Primary school in Barakahu, an urban slum of IslamabadBarakahu school opened in 2009 and currently has 118 students. The current building provides much needed extra space for the whole school to continue on the path of learning and knowledge. It is our goal to equip the school with an after-hours program dedicated to vocational training and technical education to adults in the community as a means to generate income for its graduates thus lifting families out of poverty and helping the school be self-sustainable. Teachers participate in annual teacher training, and provide multiple subjects including math and science in a learning environment that fosters critical thinking.
