“Education & economic opportunity are the chief allies of peacemakers, ignorance & poverty the playground for injustice & its ruthless leaders.” ~ Silbi Kelly Stainton, MDF Founder
Investing in education and women’s economic empowerment for a more peaceful world.
How we differ
The Marshall Direct Fund is named in honor of the Marshall Plan. Just as George Marshall recognized the great need to invest in war-weary people and ventures abroad. We believe supporting people in need of education and economic opportunities allows them to choose peace and prosperity over violence and despair. We do not invest in building, bricks and mortar…we invest in human capital. We operate primary and vocational schools and do an annual virtual exchange program. We invest in teacher training, scholarships for students, provide uniforms (often the only clothing students have), oversee implementation of curriculum that covers applicable subjects and fosters critical thinking.
